Marco Barbieri is a professor at Università Roma Tre.
Throughout his research, he has investigated a broad range of topics in quantum and nonlinear optics, including: quantum correlations, quantum discord, and "nonlocality in time"; linear optical quantum computing; quantum cryptography with continuous variables; multiparameter estimation; and, more recently, ultrafast pulse synthesis and characterization. He is now set to study the problem of quantifying time-frequency correlations, as well as to understand how broad spectra spoil quantum metrology-and how to fix this.
