The University of Paderborn (UPB) boasts 20,000 students, 237 professors, and
programs in humanities, business, sciences, engineering, and computer science.
UPB hosts the Centre for Optoelectronics and Photonics Paderborn, of which Christine Silberhorn is
a member. The Integrated Quantum Optics (IQO) group at UPB consists of three
subgroups, focusing on the areas of Technology, Devices, and Networks. The
group has a long history of innovation in lithium niobate optical technology,
supporting integrated devices, which feeds into quantum networking capabilities.
An affiliated junior research group, Mesoscopic Quantum Optics led by J.-Prof. Tim
Bartley, aims to investigate large quantum optical states using integrated
superconducting single photon detectors.
